Who am I?

My name is Isabelle and I teach French, my mother tongue, but also Italian, Spanish & Turkish to individuals and groups face to face or on screen. I also give talks and I work one to one with children having problems of behaviour at school and at home. I apply a mix of verbal and written exercises to make my courses work for you. My journey began at Toulouse University, where I delved into the intricacies of French, Spanish, German, and English. However, it was my time spent living in Turkey that truly ignited my love for language learning and teaching.  Immersed in the vibrant Turkish culture, I continued my studies while also embarking on a fulfilling career as a language educator. Along the way, I added Italian to my repertoire, completing my linguistic odyssey. Now, armed with a diverse linguistic background and a wealth of teaching experience, I’m eager to share my knowledge and enthusiasm with others on their language-learning journeys.

My Teaching Method

In my approach to teaching, I place a strong emphasis on adaptability and responsiveness to my students’ individual needs and learning styles. Rather than rigidly adhering to a pre-determined plan, I believe in engaging with my students from the outset to understand their existing knowledge and gauge their level of proficiency. This initial conversation serves as the foundation upon which I build our learning journey together.

Like assembling a puzzle, I prefer to provide my students with the framework and individual pieces gradually, allowing them to absorb and integrate each component at their own pace. This incremental approach not only fosters a deeper understanding but also instils a sense of confidence and accomplishment as they progress.

Throughout our sessions, I continuously monitor their progress and adjust my teaching methods accordingly. If I notice that they are struggling with a particular concept or if they are progressing faster than anticipated, I adapt our approach to ensure optimal learning outcomes. Flexibility is key, and I strive to create a supportive and nurturing environment where students feel empowered to learn and grow.

By eschewing a rigid plan in favour of a more dynamic and personalised approach, I aim to cultivate a deeper connection with my students and foster a genuine enthusiasm for learning. My ultimate goal is not just to impart knowledge but to instil a lifelong love of learning that extends far beyond our time together.

I Work With Children With Behavioural Problems Also

I have found profound fulfilment in my work, specialising in one-to-one support for children facing challenges with behaviour both in school and at home.

With my extensive experience in this field, I focus on providing stability, employing calming techniques such as games and conversation, and offering strategies to help children regain their place in the classroom and within their family unit. Through tailored interventions and a compassionate approach, I am dedicated to assisting these children in navigating and overcoming their difficulties.

Over time, I have witnessed remarkable transformations as children develop coping mechanisms, emotional regulation skills, and a sense of empowerment. The joy of witnessing their progress and the positive impact on their lives is truly unparalleled. My commitment to this field has yielded tangible results, fostering healthier relationships, improved academic performance, and a brighter outlook for these children and their families.
